Morley’s Triangles

Today’s print is a charm of Morley’s triangles inspired by a wedding gift my uncle painted for us. I love this painting.  He viewed it as a math puzzle you could quiz visiting friends with-what is the commonality of the triangles? How do you prove it mathematically?  Our wine rack is right below it to aid this process, which we joke about. His painting and today’s prototype charms are shown below. The intersections of the trisectors, of each angle in a triangle, form an equilateral triangle. A full description is on Wikipedia’s_trisector_theorem.

The pendent version looks great in bronze.
